We were joined on the Popternative show by Freya Mavor (Industry, Skins) who can be seen in the new season of the historcial drama series, Marie Antoinette. Season 2 premiered on on Sunday, March 23 on PBS.
Season 2 continues to chronicle the life of one of history’s most influential and controversial figures. Emilia Schüle (Berlin Dance School, Wunderschöner) returns as the title character, Marie Antoinette, and Louis Cunningham (Bridgerton) reprises his role as Louis XVI.
The ensemble cast also includes Jack Archer (Virdee, Franklin), Jasmine Blackborow (Shadow and Bone, The Gentlemen), Oscar Lesage (The Substance, Dangerous Liaisons), Crystal Shepherd-Cross (Block Pass, Chronicles of the Sun), Roxane Duran (Interview with the Vampire, Riviera), and Caroline Piette (Deerskin, Beats Per Minute).

Freya joins Season 2 as Jeanne de la Motte, who is described as “clever as she is charming, but although she has royal blood, she’s not a legitimate member of the monarchy. That means the lavish lifestyle she craves is out of reach.” In our interview, Freya discusses new experiences she gained from filming Marie Antoinette, her character, and more.

A new episode of Marie Antoinette airs Sundays at 10:00 p.m. ET on PBS (check local listings) through May 11. Season 2 is also available to stream on PBS.org, and the PBS App, and PBS Passport and with PBS Masterpiece on Prime Video.
