We were joined on the Popternative show by Flavia Leone who stars in the hit Italian coming-of-age series DI4RI/DI4RIES. The series premiered on Netflix internationally on May 18th, 2022, and just a few days ago Netflix Italy announced it would be returning for season 2. DI4RI follows students at Galileo Galilei middle school as they navigate through friendships, relationships, crushes, and of course, drama. Each episode is told through the perspective of one of the main characters accompanied by their narration.
The series stars Flavia as Livia, Andrea Arru as Pietro, Pietro Sparvoli as Mirko, Biagio Venditti as Daniele, Francesca La Cava as Arianna, Liam Nicolosi as Giulio, Sofia Nicolini as Isabel, and Frederica Franzellitti as Monica.
In our interview, Flavia discusses her audition process and preparing to play Livia as this was her first on-screen role. She also talks about why she thinks the show resonates with so many people all around the world and what it was like working with the other cast members on set.
