We were joined on the Popternative show by Emma Milani who stars as Ana Phoenix in the Fox series Monarch which premiered on September 11th. Emma’s character is a sweet and fiercely talented young singer hoping to get signed by country legends Dottie Cantrell Roman (Susan Sarandon) and Albie Romans’ (Trace Adkins) label after quickly gaining notoriety on TikTok.
Starring both Hollywood and country music elite, the multi-generational musical drama follows America’s “first family of country music.” Created by newcomer Melissa London Hilfers, Monarch also stars Anna Friel, Beth Ditto, Joshua Sasse, Iñigo Pascual, and Martha Higareda. Prior to Monarch, Emma was a series regular on the Snapchat’s streaming series Solve which allowed viewers to participate in solving a murder mystery through video content.
In our interview, Emma talks about how she got into acting and music, working on a music focused tv series, and much more. She also tells us what it’s like working with the incredible cast and crew of Monarch.
