
We were joined on the Popternative show by director Alik Sakharov about the upcoming second season of Apple TV+‘s sci-fi series, Invasion, premiering August 23rd. Alik directed episodes 201, 202, 203, and 205 and is also known for his work on critically acclaimed series including The Sopranos, Ozark, The Witcher, and Game of Thrones. From Academy Award-nominated and two-time Emmy Award-nominated producer Simon Kinberg and David Weil, Invasion is a science fiction drama series that follows an alien invasion through different perspectives around the world and set across multiple continents.
The series stars Golshifteh Farahani (Extraction, Extraction II), Shioli Kutsuna (Murder Mystery, Deadpool 2), Shamier Anderson (Goliath, Stowaway), India Brown (The Stranger, Hetty Feather), Billy Barratt (Crater, A Christmas Carol), Azhy Robertson (The Plot Against America, Marriage Story), Paddy Holland (Lockwood and Co.), and Tara Moayedi. New series regulars joining season 2 include Enver Gjokaj (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Agent Carter), Nedra Marie Taylor (Orange Is the New Black, Jessica Jones), and Naian González Norvind (Amsterdam, New Order).

Season 2 of Invasion will debut with the first episode of its ten-episode second season on August 23, followed by one new episode weekly, every Wednesday through October 25, 2023, on Apple TV+.
