We were joined on the Popternative show by Daisy May Cooper and Selin Hizli who create, wrote, and star in the critically-acclaimed series Am I Being Unreasonable? The comedy-thriller hybrid series premiered on BBC One in the U.K. on September 26, 2022, and is now available to stream in the U.S. on Hulu with all 6 episodes. The cast also includes Lenny Rush, Dustin Demri-Burns, Karla Crome, Ruben Catt, David Fynn, Amanda Wilkin, and Juliet Cowan.
Synopsis
Am I Being Unreasonable? sees Nic (Daisy May Cooper) grieving a loss that she can’t share with anyone whilst stuck in a depressing marriage. Only her son, Ollie (Lenny Rush) who she adores, keeps her going. But when Jen (Selin Hizli) arrives in town, her life is lit up with laughter and, through this kindred soul, her dark secret starts to bubble up.
In our interview, Daisy and Selin discuss the genre-bending nature of the series and how they came up with the premise for it. They also tell us about the excitement behind the series now being available in the U.S. and are looking forward to people’s theories about the storylines.
