We were recently joined on the Popternative show by Cormac Hyde-Corrin who made his on-screen debut as Harry in Netflix’s hit LGBTQ+ teen drama series Heartstopper which premiered on April 22, 2022.
An adaption of the bestselling LGBTQ+ graphic novel by Alice Oseman, Heartstopper follows Charlie (Joe Locke) and Nick (Kit Connor) who meet at secondary school and quickly discover that their unlikely friendship is blossoming into an unexpected romance. Charlie, Nick and their circle of friends must navigate the ever-relatable journey of self discovery and acceptance, supporting each other as they learn to find their most authentic selves.

In our interview, Cormac discusses playing a bully and why it’s important to have a character like Harry in a series. He also talks about some of the difficult scenes to film which required a lot of physical energy including the fights and rugby scenes.
