We were joined on the Popternative show by Corbin Reid who plays Sondi in the critically acclaimed Starz series Run The World, which returned for season 2 on May 26. The comedy series is set in Harlem and centers around a group of Black women who “must endure in their pursuit of world domination.” It also stars Amber Stevens West, Bresha Webb, Nick Sagar, Tosin Morohunfola, Stephen Bishop, Andrea Bordeaux, Erika Alexander, and Jay Walker.
Corbin’s character, Sondi Hill, is a confident professional pursuing her PhD in African-American studies who has dedicated herself to her personal and professional advancement, but soon begins to take on the role of a mother to her boyfriend’s young daughter forcing her to reevaluate both her career and personal priorities.
In our interview, Corbin talks about the mindset returning to set for season 2, what we can expect from Sondi this season, and some of her past projects including Blair Witch.
