Our favorite killer doll is back with a second season! Chucky‘s season 2 premiered on October 5th on Syfy and USA, and fans are excited to have the series back. Season one premiered October 21, 2021, and the series is a continuation of the iconic film franchise chronicling the murderous escapades of the notorious killer doll. Chucky crosses paths with archenemies, old allies and new prey, as he seeks to inspire fear and mayhem wherever he goes. After his diabolical plan to invade America’s children’s hospitals failed in season one, Chucky now seeks revenge on those he holds responsible: surviving teens Jake (Zackary Arthur), Devon (Bjorgvin Arnarson) and Lexy (Alyvia Alyn Lind), along with his ex Tiffany, now his sworn enemy.
We were joined on the Popternative show by Chucky star Bjorgvin Arnarson where we discuss the new season, Devon’s character growth, the horror genre and much more.
Bjorgvin tells us that he is more comfortable this season: “To me, with season one I was really nervous; it my first big anything, any big project so I was like ‘I gotta do a good job’ […] so season one was when I was really more nervous but I guess now it’s easier to get into him but it’s still hard because I want to show that time has passed with the character.”
We also asked him if he was a fan of the horror genre before joining Chucky: “I’m a big fan of horror. I like a lot of the weird psychological horror stuff, but I’ve always been a fan of the horror genre because I think it is unique […] you can do a lot with that genre,” Bjorgvin explains.
