We were joined on the Popternative show by Biagio Venditti who stars as Daniele in the hit Italian coming-of-age series DI4RI/DI4RIES. The series premiered on Netflix internationally on May 18th, 2022, and just recently Netflix Italy announced it would be returning for season 2. DI4RI follows students at Galileo Galilei middle school as they navigate through friendships, relationships, crushes, and of course, lots of drama. Each episode is told through the perspective of one of the main characters accompanied by their own narration.
The series stars Francesca La Cava as Arianna, Flavia Leone as Livia, Andrea Arru as Pietro, Pietro Sparvoli as Mirko, Biagio Venditti as Daniele, Liam Nicolosi as Giulio, Sofia Nicolini as Isabel, and Frederica Franzellitti as Monica.
In our interview, Biagio goes into detail about his audition process for DI4RI which took place in 2020. He also discusses his character Daniele and the importance of his role; he has received touching messages from people all around the world who relate to Daniele. Biagio then talks about working with Pietro Sparvoli who plays Mirko and the acting advice they got on set.
