We were joined back on the Popernative show by Amanda Crew (Silicon Valley, There’s Something Wrong with the Children) to discuss her new film, the psychological thriller, Some Other Woman. The film was released On Demand on January 3, 2025 and also stars Tom Felton (Harry Potter franchise, The Forgotten Battle), and Ashley Greene (Twilight franchise, Deck the Walls).

Directed by Joel David Moore (Avatar franchise), Some Other Woman follows a woman who begins to question if she’s losing her mind or her husband’s loyalty when a strange woman slowly intrudes into their life. Eve (Amanda Crew) was promised a few months on a tropical island for her husband, Peter’s (Tom Felton) work. Years later, unable to build the family they wanted, reality starts to unravel when she encounters a strange woman (Ashley Greene) who begins taking over her life piece by piece.

Amanda describes how she read the film: “The themes really spoke to me. When I read [the script] it read to me as capturing a woman’s descent as what she thought was true in her life be completely disrupted and not understanding of what she can trust”

“It was a lot for me with the script of just tracking Eve’s journey, because as we all know these things are shot out of order and her kind of descent into an altered state, you know tracking that and making sure I was keeping a through line with is was really challenging,” she adds on how she had to prepare for her role as Eve.

Some Other Woman is now available On Demand.
