We spoke with Alisha Wainwright and Rome Flynn on the Popternative show about season 2 of Raising Dion which recently dropped on Netflix.
About season 2 of Raising Dion
The sci-fi family drama follows the story of Nicole (Alisha Wainwright) and her son Dion (Ja’Siah Young) after Dion starts to manifest several mysterious, superhero-like abilities. Two years after defeating the Crooked Man (Jason Ritter), season 2 follows Dion as he continues using his powers with the help of his mom and Tevin (Rome Flynn), his Biona trainer who catches Nicole’s eye. After making a new friend at school, Brayden (Griffin Robert Faulkner), a fellow powered kid, a series of alarming events unfold, and Dion learns that danger is still looming. Navigating twists, turns, and surprise visitors, Dion and Nicole must prevail again — not just to save themselves, but the entire city of Atlanta.
In our interview, Rome discusses what it was like joining for the series for season 2 and the appeal of superhero culture. Alisha talks about what she hopes people get from watching Raising Dion, and what we can expect from season 2.
