The Canadian slasher In a Violent Nature was released in theaters on May 31st and is a bloody experience with innovative camera work giving audiences a view from the killer’s perspective. Written and directed by Chris Nash, it stars Ry Barrett as Johnny, Andrea Pavlovic as Kris, Cameron Love as Colt, Reece Presley as The Ranger, Liam Leone, Charlotte Creaghan as Aurora, Lea Rose Sebastianis as Brodie, Sam Roulston as Ehren, Alexander Oliver as Evan, and Lauren-Marie Taylor as The Woman.

When a locket is removed from a collapsed fire tower in the woods that entombs the rotting corpse of Johnny, a vengeful spirit spurred on by a horrific 60-year old crime, his body is resurrected and becomes hellbent on retrieving it. The undead golem hones in on the group of vacationing teens responsible for the theft and proceeds to methodically slaughter them one by one in his mission to get it back – along with anyone in his way.

Since its release, audiences and critics have been reacting to the kills, and it was shared on X that during the Chicago Critics Film screening, “An audience member also vomited during the screening.”
