Hazbin Hotel reactions
The first four episodes of Hazbin Hotel are now available to stream on Prime Video, and they have been a long time coming! The pilot episode, which was completely funded by Kickstarter and created by freelance animators, released on YouTube in October of 2019. Because of the huge response, Prime Video picked up the series for not one, but two series.
Was Hazbin Hotel worth the over four year wait?
Hazbin Hotel reactions are in, and fans and critics alike say yes! The second these episodes hit the internet, fans started binging. X, formerly Twitter, was filled with reactions from them gushing over the episodes and the incredible musical numbers.
Some say they cannot wait for more, while others use explicit language to express just how obsessed they are with these episodes. Of course there had to be some changes in story and character design, but that didn’t seem to bother anyone as most fans claim they will be watching these episodes over and over again until the next one airs next week.
When it comes to the critics, the current Rotten Tomatoes score might be seventy-five percent, but that is with only eight reviews – two of which are rotten.
Randy Myers of San Jose Mercury News exclaims, “Each outlandish episode is filled with wicked wit and even busts out with a bit of song and dance. A revolving team of guest voices descend to these fiery pits of what will likely turn into a cult sensation.”
Mae Abdulbaki from Screen Rant says “Hazbin Hotel is a sublime animated series that knows exactly what it’s going for, strengthened by an impressive voice cast and memorable songs.”
Kate Sánchez of But Why Tho? A Geek Community, claims, “[Hazbin Hotel is] a unique take on the adult comedy genre and nails worldbuilding in a weird and quirky way. The series is fantastic, funny, and absolutely chaotic in some of the best raunchy ways.”
Collider claims, “To put it simply, Hazbin Hotel was worth the wait. Expectations were heaven-high going in, and they were easily smashed like Sir Pentious’s Eggy Boys, thanks to the showstopping music, stellar ensemble cast, and excellent design choices for the show.”
Hazbin Hotel episodes one through four are streaming now on Prime Video. Episodes five and six will begin streaming on January 19th, while the final two episodes of season one will drop on February 2nd.
