
Hazbin Hotel Interviews
The highly anticipated adult animated musical comedy series Hazbin Hotel dropped today on Prime Video with the first four episodes with two episodes rolling out weekly through February 2nd. Featuring original songs by Sam Haft and Emmy-nominated Andrew Underberg, and created by Vivienne Medrano, Hazbin Hotel is based on Medrano’s popular animated pilot released on YouTube in 2019, which quickly gained over 92 million views and a worldwide fan base.
The voice cast, which is includes seasoned musical theater storytellers, is comprised of Erika Henningsen (Girls5eva), Stephanie Beatriz (Brooklyn Nine-Nine), Jeremy Jordan (Supergirl), Blake Roman (Blue Bloods), Daphne Rubin-Vega (Rent), Jessica Vosk (Schmigadoon!), Kimiko Glenn (Orange Is the New Black), Amir Talai (American Dad!), Keith David (They Live), Alex Brightman (The Blacklist), Leslie Rodriguez Kritzer (The First Lady), Krystina Alabado (Pantheon), Joel Perez (tick, tick… BOOM!), Lilli Cooper (Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock), Darren Criss (Glee), Christian Borle (Prodigal Son), Joshua Tomar (League of Legends), Patina Miller (Madam Secretary), and James Monroe Iglehart (Helluva Boss).

Hazbin Hotel follows the princess of Hell, Charlie, as she aims to rehabilitate demons as a way to reduce overpopulation in her kingdom. After a yearly extermination imposed by angels, she opens a hotel with the goal that patrons will be “checking out” into Heaven. Her partner Vaggie, and their first test subject, adult-film star Angel Dust, support Charlie when no one else will. But when a powerful entity, ” The Radio Demon,” reaches out to help Charlie, her dream is given a chance to become a reality.
We were joined on the Popternative show by Hazin Hotel cast members Erika Henningsen, Stephanie Beatriz, Kimiko Glenn, Blake Roman, Amir Talai, Daphne Rubin-Vega, and Jessica Vosk. They each touch on their previous knowledge of the original pilot, what intrigued them about the series, and how they prepared to record their voice scenes in order to create a unique, blended world of adult humor, catchy music, and animation.
