Based on the New York Times best-selling novel by acclaimed author Harlan Coben, Harlan Coben’s Shelter is a thriller series created by Charlotte Coben and Harlan Coben that follows Mickey (Jaden Michael) living in New Jersey dealing with a mother in rehab, a dead father, and his annoying aunt Shira Bolitar played by Constance Zimmer. Things take a turn for Mickey when the mysterious disappearance of a new student at his school leads to unimaginable secrets being revealed.
Harlan Coben’s Shelter premiered on Prime Video on August 18 with the season one finale dropping soon. Constance Zimmer shared with Popternative host Petey Beats what she hopes viewers get out of watching the show: “I think entertainment right now is you just want to be excited to watch it and want to keep watching it and what I hope that people get out of it is that this show is not just one genre.”
Constance added, “The idea that everybody of every age I think and gender and culture and whatever your background is, I know that you’re going to find somebody and something that you relate to on a level that will be surprising. And I think that for me is when you can intertwine that into also an entertainment show that’s great, but you’re going to get out of it whatever you want. You just want people to come back and want to watch it and like, “oh my God what’s going to happen to that person and how are they going to deal with this?” and so it’s constantly evolving. Every episode you’re going to have a different set of characters and mysteries to solve and discover and at the same time, these people are trying to figure out who they are.”
