This article contains major spoilers for the FROM Season 4 finale*
The fourth season of MGM+’s hit sci-fi horror series FROM came to a jaw-dropping conclusion on Sunday, June 28, delivering new twists, sacrifices, and even more mysteries for fans to unravel before the show’s fifth and final season. While viewers are hoping the residents of the eerie town will finally find answers—and perhaps a way home—the Season 4 finale proved that no one is safe, especially Fatima, played by Pegah Ghafoori, whose storyline took one of the season’s most shocking turns.
We were joined back on the Popternative show by Pegah Ghafoori to discuss Fatima’s harrowing journey this season, culminating in one of the finale’s most devastating moments. Ever since Fatima gave birth to the terrifying Smiley creature in Season 3, she’s been battling disturbing changes to her body. Her heart rate began dropping, mysterious scars appeared across her body, and she developed an unsettling connection to the very monster she brought into the world.

That haunting transformation reached its climax in the Season 4 finale when Fatima, Boyd (Harold Perrineau), Ellis (Corteon Moore), and went into the tunnels to save Tabitha (Catalina Sandino Moreno) and Jade (David Alpay). Surrounded by a the creatures with no escape, Fatima makes a sacrifice when she tells them to “remember who I was,” as she lets out a scream before transforming completely into one of the monsters herself.
“I found out about a week before we went to camera for that episode, which is not a lot of time,” Ghafoori tells us. I tried to get a meeting with the writer and we did. We had a great meeting. I ended up filming that scene on my last day of that of that season, so I had lots of time to sit with it and come to terms with it and figure out what is happening,” she adds.
She also reflects on Fatima’s heartbreaking evolution and teases that the stakes will only get higher as FROM heads into its final season. Watch the full conversation with Pegah Ghafoori below.
Season 4 of FROM is streaming on MGM+.
