Outer Banks Season 5 marks the final chapter in the Pogues’ story.
The end of the journey is finally in sight for the Pogues. The group returns for the fifth and final season of Outer Banks, premiering August 20 on Netflix. Netflix unveiled first-look photos, a teaser trailer, and details about the upcoming soundtrack release today.
When we last left the Pogues, tragedy struck with a shocking Season 4 finale. Chandler Groff (J. Anthony Crane) murder his own son, JJ (Rudy Pankow), in front of Kiara (Madison Bailey). Now, the Pogues set out on one final adventure: justice for their friend while facing their biggest challenge yet.
Returning cast for Season 5 are Chase Stokes as John B., Madelyn Cline as Sarah Cameron, Madison Bailey as Kiara, Jonathan Daviss as Pope, Carlacia Grant as Cleo, Drew Starkey as Rafe, Austin North as Topper, Fiona Palomo as Sofia, J. Anthony Crane as Chandler Groff, and Cullen Moss as Shoupe.
The synopsis for Season 5 of Outer Banks reads, “Season 5 finds the Pogues at their absolute breaking point following the tragic loss of JJ in Morocco. Stranded far from home and mourning the heart of their crew, they’ve lost the Blue Crown and continue to face a gauntlet of familiar threats. With Chandler Groff still at large, Dalia and the Corsairs closing in, and the Kooks ensuring the Pogues have no home to return to, John B, Sarah, Kiara, Pope, and Cleo must rely on their scrappy instincts—and an uneasy alliance with Rafe—to keep from falling apart for good. Their mission is now a desperate race to reclaim their future and finally win the freedom they’ve been chasing since the beginning. It’s the Pogues against the world as they seek to avenge their best friend and bring it on home…one final time.”
Netflix also announced that that a new Outer Banks vinyl soundtrack collection from Seasons 1–4. The 25-track Vinyl soundtrack is produced by award-winning composer and producer Fill Eisler and features Sides A through D — capturing the ultimate sounds of summer and including fan-favorite scores like the “Outer Banks Main Theme”, “Pogue’s Theme”, “Endless Summer”, “Pogue’s Sunset” and more. The vinyl collection is available for pre-order starting today.
