Paramount+ today released a first look and official title for the highly anticipated espionage thriller Special Ops: Lioness (previously titled Lioness). Created by Yellowstone’s Taylor Sheridan. It stars series leads and executive producers Zoe Saldaña (Guardians of the Galaxy films, Avatar) and Nicole Kidman (The Undoing, Being the Ricardos), Laysla De Oliveira (Locke & Key, Needle in a Timestack), and Morgan Freeman (A Good Person, The Shawshank Redemption).
Synopsis
Special Ops: Lioness is based on a real-life program and follows Cruz Manuelos (De Oliveira), a rough-around-the-edges but passionate young Marine recruited to join the Lioness Engagement Team to help bring down a terrorist organization from within. Saldaña will play Joe, the station chief of the Lioness program tasked with training, managing and leading her female undercover operatives.
It will also star series regulars Dave Annable (Walker, Yellowstone), Jill Wagner (Teen Wolf, Braven), LaMonica Garrett (1883, The Terminal List), James Jordan (Mayor of Kingstown, Yellowstone), Austin Hébert (Ray Donovan, Unbelievable), Jonah Wharton (Manodrome, The Rookie), Stephanie Nur (North of the 10, 1883), and Hannah Love Lanier (The Tiny Mighty Club) with Michael Kelly (Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan, House of Cards) in a recurring role.
This is latest addition to Sheridan’s growing slate on Paramount+, which includes 1923, 1883, Mayor of Kingstown and Tulsa King, as well as the upcoming series Lawmen: Bass Reeves and Land Man.
