Amazon MGM Studios yesterday dropped first look photos from The Accountant 2, the sequel to the 2016 action thriller starring Ben Affleck and Jon Bernthal. The film will have its World Premiere at the 2025 SXSW Film Festival before premiering in theaters on April 25,.
Cynthia Addai-Robinson (The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power), reprises her role as U.S. Treasury Deputy Marybeth Medina, J.K. Simmons (Whiplash) returns as Ray King, and new cast members are Daniella Pineda (Jurassic World Dominion), and Allison Robertson (The 31).
Gavin O’Connor (Pride and Glory) returns as director, and Bill Dubuque (Ozark), who wrote the first movie, also returns as writer for the sequel.
The synopsis reads, “Christian Wolff (Ben Affleck) has a talent for solving complex problems. When an old acquaintance is murdered, leaving behind a cryptic message to “find the accountant,” Wolff is compelled to solve the case. Realizing more extreme measures are necessary, Wolff recruits his estranged and highly lethal brother, Brax (Jon Bernthal), to help. In partnership with U.S. Treasury Deputy Director Marybeth Medina (Cynthia Addai-Robinson), they uncover a deadly conspiracy, becoming targets of a ruthless network of killers who will stop at nothing to keep their secrets buried.”
