HBO today revealed first look photos from the upcoming comedy series, Rooster, from co-showrunners Bill Lawrence (Shrinking, Ted Lasso) and Matt Tarses (Bad Monkey, Scrubs). Premiering in March 2026, the 10-episode series stars Steve Carell (The Four Seasons, The Office), Charly Clive (The Lazarus Project, All My Friends Hate Me), Danielle Deadwyler (40 Acres, Till), Phil Dunster (Surface, Ted Lasso), John C. McGinley (Scrubs, Stan Against Evil), and Lauren Tsai (Moxie, Legion).
Rooster is described as a comedy set on a college campus centering on an author’s (Carell) complicated relationship with his daughter (Charly Clive).
The series is produced by Bill Lawrence, Jeff Ingold and Liza Katzer (Ted Lasso, Shrinking) for Doozer, Matt Tarses, Jonathan Krisel (Portlandia, Baskets), Barbie Adler (Nobody Wants This, Arrested Development), Annie Mebane (Shrinking, Bad Monkey), David Stassen (Running Point, The Running Project), Anthony King (The Afterparty, Search Party), and Steve Carell. The studio is Warner Bros. Television, where both Doozer and Tarses are under overall deals.
