
MGM+ is adapting a Stephen King novel into a new horror series. The Institute will premiere on July 13 on the streaming platform. They have just released first look images from the upcoming series.
From executive producers Stephen King and Jack Bender (From, Lost), The Institute follows the story of teen genius Luke Ellis who is kidnapped and awakens at The Institute, a facility full of children who all got there the same way he did and who are all possessed of unusual abilities. In a nearby town, haunted former police officer Tim Jamieson has come looking to start a new life, but the peace and quiet won’t last, as his story and Luke’s are destined to collide.

The series stars Mary-Louise Parker (Weeds), Ben Barnes (The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian), Joe Freeman, Simone Miller (Detention Adventure), Fionn Laird, Hannah Galway (Sex/Life), Julian Richings (X-Men: The Last Stand), Robert Joy (From), Martin Roach (The Umbrella Academy).

The Institute is created and executive produced by Stephen King alongside director and executive producer Jack Bender and executive producers Benjamin Cavell (Godfather of Harlem, Homeland), Gary Barber (Footloose, The Vow), Sam Sheridan (Homestead), and Ed Redlich (The Practice, Unforgettable).
