Netflix today revealed first look photos from the upcoming comedy, Nonnas featuring an all-star cast. The film is inspired by a Staten Island restaurant that serves food prepared by grandmothers.
Premiering on May 9th, the film stars Vince Vaughn (Bad Monkey, Wedding Crashers), Lorraine Bracco (The Sopranos, Goodfellas), Talia Shire (Rocky, The Godfather), Brenda Vaccaro (Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood, Midnight Cowboy), Joe Manganiello (True Blood, Magic Mike), Drea de Matteo (A Million Little Things, The Sopranos), Campbell Scott (Jurassic World: Dominion, WeCrashed), Michael Rispoli (The Deuce, Kick-Ass), Linda Cardellini (Dead to Me, Bloodline), and Susan Sarandon (The Six Triple Eight, Thelma & Louise).

Directed by Stephen Chbosky (The Perks of Being a Wallflower, Wonder) and written by Liz Maccie (Siren, A Loud House Christmas), the synopsis reads, “After the loss of his mother, a man risks everything to honor her by opening an Italian restaurant with a group of local grandmothers as the chefs.”

Tudum‘s description of the film is: “Nonnas follows Joe (Vince Vaughn), who, after losing his mom and grandmother, turns to their generations-old recipes for solace and direction. With the money from his mom’s insurance and a little help from his friends, he opens Enoteca Maria, an old-school Italian spot that staffs four grandmothers, or “nonnas,” from different cities in Italy, who share their dishes with the neighborhood. “
