Focus Features today announced the wide release date of December 25, 2025 for the upcoming music biopic, Song Sung Blue starring Kate Hudson (Running Point, Almost Famous) and Hugh Jackman (Deadpool & Wolverine, The Greatest Showman).

Written and directed by Craig Brewer (Dolemite Is My Name, Hustle & Flow), Song Sung Blue tells the inspiring true story of two down-on-their-luck performers who form a joyous Neil Diamond tribute band, proving it’s never too late to find love and follow your dreams.

The cast also includes Michael Imperioli (The White Lotus, The Sopranos), Fisher Stevens (Succession, Asteroid City), Jim Belushi (Twin Peaks, According to Jim), Ella Anderson (Henry Danger, Suncoast), King Princess (Nine Perfect Strangers), Mustafa Shakir (Love Hurts, Luke Cage), and Hudson Hilbert Hensley.

Focus developed and holds worldwide rights to the film, which is based on Greg Kohs’ 2008 documentary of the same name. Universal Pictures International is handling international distribution.

Brewer also produced the film alongside Davis Entertainment’s John Davis and John Fox ( (The Equalizer, Game Night).
