Netflix today revealed first look photos from the upcoming limited series, Ripley, premiering in 2024 on the streaming platform. The highly-anticipated drama will star Andrew Scott (All of Us Strangers, Fleabag) as Tom Ripley, and all eight episodes were directed and written by Steven Zaillian (Moneyball, The Irishman).
Logline: The drama is based on Patricia Highsmith’s bestselling Tom Ripley novels. In the series, Tom Ripley (Andrew Scott), a grifter scraping by in early 1960s New York, is hired by a wealthy man to travel to Italy to try to convince his vagabond son Dickie Greenleaf (Johnny Flynn) to return home. Tom’s acceptance of the job is the first step into a complex life of deceit, fraud and murder. Dakota Fanning plays Marge Sherwood, an American living in Italy who suspects darker motives underlie Tom’s affability.
Executive producers are Steven Zaillian, Garrett Basch (What We Do in the Shadows, The Night Of), Guymon Casady (The Terror, Game of Thrones), Ben Forkner (Deep Water, Shovel Buddies), Sharon Levy and Philipp Keel of Diogenes. Andrew Scott will also serve as a producer on the series.
