We were joined on the Popternative show by Jonathan Bennett (Mean Girls, The Groomsmen) and Melissa Peterman (Happy’s Place, Reba) to discuss Season 2 of Hallmark’s first-ever reality competition series, Finding Mr. Christmas. The second season premiered on October 27 and Bennett returns as host with Peterman as the lead judge.
The competition series follows 10 aspiring actors who compete in a variety of outrageous Christmas-themed competitions to prove they have what it takes to land the next Hallmark leading role. From present wrapping, making gingerbread houses, dancing and even on-screen kissing, each week, one contestant will be sent “home for the holidays,” while the winner lands a role of a lifetime in one of this year’s Countdown to Christmas movies.
Season one’s winner, Ezra Moreland, starred opposite Jessica Lowndes in Happy Howlidays, which premiered during last year’s Countdown to Christmas lineup.
Watch our conversation below with Jonathan and Melissa where they discuss what it’s like getting to be part of a competition series versus acting and much more.
