Fall TV Preview: New Series Premiering in September 2024

As summer is slowly winding down, TV fans have a lot to look forward to come September. Not only will many of our favorite series be returning with new seasons, but many new series will have their premiere all month long.

From comedy, true crime, drama, horror, to superhero fantasy, there’s a wide range of new content to put on your to-watch list.

Here are 15 new series premiering in September 2024 (both streaming and cable) to keep an eye out for.

English Teacher (Season 1) – September 2 (FX)

Genre: Comedy Drama

Cast: Brian Jordan Alvarez, Stephanie Koenig, Enrico Colantoni, Carmen Christopher, Sean Patton

Synopsis: “Stars Brian Jordan Alvarez as “Evan Marquez,” a high school teacher in Austin, Texas who often finds himself at the intersection of the personal, professional and political aspects of working at a high school. Evan wants to be a principled person but often runs into trouble because of it.”

The Perfect Couple (Limited series) – September 5 (Netflix)

Genre: Mystery Drama Crime

Cast: Nicole Kidman, Liev Schreiber, Dakota Fanning, Meghann Fahy, Eve Hewson, Billy Howle, Ishaan Khattar, Jack Reynor, Sam Nivola, Mia Isaac, Michael Beach, Isabelle Adjani

Synopsis: “Amelia Sacks is about to marry into one of the wealthiest families on Nantucket. Her disapproving future mother-in-law, famous novelist Greer Garrison Winbury, has spared no expense in planning what promises to be the premiere wedding of the season — until a body turns up on the beach. The Chicken Sisters (Season 1) – September 10 (Hallmark+)

Genre: Family Drama

Cast: Schuyler Fisk, Genevieve Angelson, Lea Thompson, Wendie Malick, James Kot, Ektor Rivera, Rukiya Bernard, Jake Foy

Synopsis: “A family drama dipped in southern charm and served up with a saucy side of romance. The setting is the fictional town of Merinac, where a generations-old rift between dueling fried chicken restaurants – Mimi’s and Frannie’s – has left the founders’ families fractured and the locals taking sides. When the popular cooking competition show Ultimate Kitchen Clash comes to town, it could be the recipe for ending this feud once and for all. But things are fixing to heat up both inside and outside of the kitchen as the reality show spotlight causes sparks to fly as secrets are spilled and feathers get ruffled.”

How to Die Alone (Season 1) – September 13 (Hulu)

Three Women (Season 1) – September 13 (Starz)

Genre: Drama

Cast: Shailene Woodley, Betty Gilpin, DeWanda Wise, Gabrielle Creevy, Blair Underwood, Jason Ralph, Blair Redford

Synopsis: “Based on the New York Times bestseller by Lisa Taddeo, Three Women explores the compellingly raw and honest stories of three women who had the audacity to believe that they deserved more in life through a nuanced portrait of female desire.”

Agatha All Along (Limited series) – September 18 (Disney+)

Genre: Fantasy Superhero Dark Comedy

Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story – (Limited series) – September 19 (Netflix)

The Penguin (Limited series) – September 19 (Max)

Twilight of the Gods (Season 1) – September 19 (Netflix)

Genre: Adult Animated Fantasy

Matlock (Season 1) – September 22 (CBS)

Genre: Legal Drama

Brilliant Minds (Season 1) – September 23 (NBC)

Genre: Medical Drama

Cast: Zachary Quinto, Tamberla Perry, Ashleigh LaThrop, Alex MacNicoll, Aury Krebs, Spence Moore II, Teddy Sears, Donna Murphy

Synopsis: “Inspired by the work of world-famous author and physician Oliver Sacks, the series follows gifted neurologist Dr. Wolf who uses his unconventional approach to treat puzzling psychological cases along with his team of interns.”

Murder in a Small Town (Season 1) – September 24 (Fox)

Genre: Mystery Drama

Cast: Rossif Sutherland, Kristin Kreuk, James Cromwell, Stana Katic, Mya Lowe, Savonna Spracklin, Aaron Douglas, Fritzy-Klevans Destine

Grotesquerie (Season 1) – September 25 (FX)

Genre: Horror Drama

Doctor Odyssey (Season 1) – September 26 (ABC)

Synopsis: “Max (Joshua Jackson) is the new on-board doctor for a luxury cruise ship where the staff works hard and plays harder. It’s all-hands-on-deck as Max and his small but mighty medical team navigate unique medical crises and each other, miles from shore.”

Nobody Wants This (Season 1) – September 26 (Netflix)

Genre: Comedy

Cast: Kristen Bell, Adam Brody, Justine Lupe, Timothy Simons, Paul Ben-Victor, Tovah Feldshuh

Synopsis: “A comedy centered on the unlikely relationship between an outspoken, agnostic woman, Joanne (Kristen Bell), and an unconventional rabbi, Noah (Adam Brody).”
