Prime Video today dropped a first teaser trailer for the upcoming Legally Blonde prequel series, Elle, which focuses on a teenage Elle Woods in 1995. Starring Lexi Minetree (The Murdaugh Murders) as the titular chracacter, June Diane Raphael (Grace and Frankie) as Elle’s mother Eva, and Tom Everett Scott (The Summer I Turned Pretty) as Elle’s father, Wyatt, the series premieres July 1.
The cast also includes Jacob Moskovitz (Y2K), Gabrielle Policano (Babygirl), Chandler Kinney (Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin), Zac Looker (Geek Girl), and Amy Pietz (Paradise), with recurring cast members Jessica Belkin (The Hunting Wives), Danielle Chand, Matt Oberg (Hacks), Chloe Wepper (Office Christmas Party), Logan Shroyer (This Is Us), Sharon Taylor (Cross), David Burtka (How I Met Your Mother), Brad Harder (Just Like a Christmas Movie), Kayla Maisonet (NCIS: Origins), Lisa Yamada (Cruel Summer), and the late James Van Der Beek (Dawson’s Creek).
The synopsis reads, “Season One of Elle follows Elle Woods before she was a fish-out-of-water at Harvard. We meet her in 1995 as a fish in the tumultuous waters of high school where she encounters tricky friendships, forbidden romance, and questionable fashion choices. Through it all, Elle uses her family as a touchstone, and forms an even tighter bond to her mother, proving that they can get through anything life throws their way as long as they have each other. With each challenge she faces, Elle grows closer to the Elle Woods we know and love today.”
