All critters and Dungeons and Dragons players are on the look out for what’s coming out of Critical Role in the coming weeks! At this year’s New York Comic Con, the cast of Critical Role turned on the lights for the first Main Stage panel with new information and teasers about Campaign Four as well as their upcoming Prime Video series, The Legend of Vox Machina and The Mighty Nein.
The entire cast, including Matt Mercer, Laura Bailey, Liam O’Brien, Sam Riegel, Taliesin Jaffe, Marisha Ray, and Travis Willingham, were present to talk, including some interesting teasers about the casts of the upcoming shows.
Notably, more guest stars for The Mighty Nein were announced, which includes Anjelica Huston, Lucy Liu, Nathan Fillion, T’Nia Miller, Felicia Day, Graham McTavish, and Ivanna Sakhno. Though their roles remain a mystery at this time, there was one actor who was announced as an iconic character critters know so well.
At the panel, it was announced that Wayne Brady will be joining The Legend of Vox Machina Season 4 as Taryon Darrington, an eccentric adventurer who loves to record all his speeches and such. In addition, Kevin Michael Richardson, Debra Wilson, and Tom Cardy will also be guest-starring this season.
There was also new footage from both Prime Video shows that were recorded, which you can read about below:
- The first Legend of Vox Machina clip sees Grog singing about the events of the previous season with these cartoonishly cute doodles as Pike tries to make sense of things. The chorus is hilarious on its own: “f**k s**t up!” Willingham describes where Grog currently is as his “Vegas residency” (although in actuality, it turns out to be a decrepit tavern.)
- The second clip sees Brady’s Taryon Darrington with his partner-scribe Doty retelling his own escapades, and possibly recruiting Grog and Pike to join his side. Taryon gets both of their names wrong, but Grog is too infatuated with Taryon’s regal-ness to acknowledge it. However, Pike sees through and is actually annoyed by Taryon’s arrogance.
For those sticking around for The Mighty Nein Season 1, many fans can expect each episode to have a runtime that’s two times longer than previous episodes from The Legend of Vox Machina. Fans can also expect more relationships to blossom between the characters early on, including Bailey’s Jester and Willingham’s Fjord, O’Brien’s Caleb and Riegel’s Nott, and much more.

The Legend of Vox Machina Season 4 is set to release in 2026. The Mighty Nein Season 1 releases on November 19 on Prime Video.
