We were joined on the Poternative show by Will Tilston to discuss the fourth season of Bridgerton, which was split into 2 parts: Part 1 on January 29 and Part 2 on February 26. Will has been playing Gregory Bridgerton, the youngest of the Bridgerton boys, since its first season which launched in 2020. The series has already been renewed for Seasons 5 and 6.

Having been part of Bridgerton since its debut, Will has quite literally grown up alongside Gregory Bridgerton. Reflecting on his character’s evolution, he notes that Season 4 marks a turning point for Gregory: “I’m very aware of what happens to Gregory in his [own book]. I’d be very lucky to explore that one day. But for now, I mean, for at least the shift for Season 4, I just sort of saw it as him growing up a little bit. Sort of suddenly finally joining the family in a more adult way instead of just being the the little boy that runs around.”

In episode 5 of Bridgerton Season 4, Hyacinth’s recital dance becomes a standout moment. Hyacinth, played by Florence Hunt, joins Gregory and others their age in a choreographed performance set to a cello and string cover of Charli XCX’s “360.”

The scene quickly went viral and the cast had a feeling it would be a popular one in the season: “I remember hearing the song and it was really exciting because we all knew that there was going to be some sort of mainstream song that was going to be used. So, we were all guessing. And then we finally heard it and we were like, okay, this is going to be a big one for sure.”

The dancing itself was also a big moment for Will: “We had two days of rehearsal where we met all the other dancers. We worked with Jack Murphy, our choreographer, and that was my first time dancing in a ballroom. I’d had that little dance with Claudia [Jessie] in Season 2, which was a lot of fun. But this was like my first sort of big one.”

“And then learning that dance, it was much harder than I thought it would be. I was like, I’ve danced in the past. I can do this. It’ll be a piece of cake. But then as soon as I started doing it, I realized that my feet don’t work sometimes, and I was all over the place. But soon I got the hang of it,” he adds.
