Netflix today revealed a teaser for the upcoming crime thriller ANIMALS directed by and starring Ben Affleck (Gone Girl, Argo) who co-wrote the script with Connor O. McIntyre and Billy Ray (Captain Phillips, The Hunger Games). ANIMALS releases in select theaters and on the streaming platform on October 9.
The film also stars Kerry Washington (Imperfect Women, Scandal), Steven Yeun (Beef, Minari), Gillian Anderson (The Fall, Sex Education), Adriana Paz (Ashes, Emilia Pérez), Ray Fisher (The Piano Lesson, Zack Snyder’s Justice League), Christopher Woodley (Little Brother, Our Son), Matt Gerald (Lioness, Avatar), Jacob Estrada, and Luis Gerardo Méndez (Club of Crows, Narcos: Mexico).
The logline reads, “When their son is kidnapped, a Los Angeles mayoral candidate and his wife find themselves drawn into a web of deception. As they scramble to raise the ransom payment, they’re forced to make choices that could tear their world apart.”
