August 2024 TV Preview: 8 New Series to Check Out
August 2024 will see the return of many popular TV series. These inclulde the final season of The Umbrella Academy on August 8, season 3 of HBO’s Industry on August 11, part 1 of Netflix’s fourth season of Emily in Paris on August 15, Peacock’s third season of Bel-Air on August 15, season 2 of Apple TV+s Pachinko on August 23, season 4 of Hulu’s Only Murders in the Building on August 27, and season 2 of Prime Video’s The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power on August 29.

But next month will also see the launch of several new series. Here are 8 new TV series premiering in August 2024 to put on your to-watch list.

A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder – August 1 (Netflix)

Genre: YA Mystery Thriller

Cast: Emma Myers, Zain Iqbal, Asha Banks, Raiko Gohara, Jude Morgan-Collie, Yali Topol Margalith, Yasmin Al-Khudhairi, Carla Woodcock, Henry Ashton

Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles – August 9 (Paramount+)

Genre: Animated Superhero

Voice Cast: Nicolas Cantu, Micah Abbey, Shamon Brown Jr., Brady Noon, Ayo Edebiri, Rose Byrne, Natasia Demetriou, Pete Davidson, Alanna Ubach

Synopsis:Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles explores the adventures of everyone’s favorite pizza-loving heroes as they emerge from the sewers onto the streets of NYC. Bad Monkey – August 14 (Apple TV+)

Genre: Drama Comedy

Cast: Vince Vaughn, L. Scott Caldwell, Rob Delaney, Meredith Hagner, Natalie Martinez, Alex Moffat, Michelle Monaghan, Jodie Turner-Smith, John Ortiz

Synopsis:Bad Monkey tells the story of Andrew Yancy (Vince Vaughn), who has been bounced from the Miami Police Department and is now a health inspector in the Keys. But after stumbling upon a case that begins with a human arm fished up by tourists, he realizes that if he can prove murder, he’ll be back in. He just needs to get past a trove of Floridian oddballs and one bad monkey.”

Rick and Morty: The Anime – August 15 (Adult Swim)

English Language Version (Dub) premieres Thursdays 8/15 @ 12am
Japanese Language Version (Sub) premieres Saturdays starting 8/17 @ 12am

Genre: Anime spin-off series of Rick and Morty

RuPaul’s Drag Race Global All Stars – August 16 (Paramount+)

Kaos – August 29 (Netflix)

Genre: Mythological Dark Comedy
