Taylor Jenkins Reid’s bestselling 2017 novel The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo is headed to the screen with a Netflix adaptation, and Woman of the Hour director Anna Kendrick is set to helm the project. The script is written by Liz Tigelaar (Little Fires Everywhere, Casual) with revisions by Francesca Sloane (Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Atlanta). Jenkins Reid will also executive produce.

Adapted from Taylor Jenkins Reid’s bestselling novel, The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo will center on a young journalist who is granted an exclusive interview with reclusive Hollywood icon Evelyn Hugo. As Evelyn reflects on her seven marriages, she recounts decades of fame, scandal, heartbreak, and ambition, revealing long-buried secrets that reshape the understanding of her life and those closest to her.

Casting details have yet to be announced, including who will play Evelyn Hugo, Monique Grant, and the seven husbands at the center of the story.
