Acorn TV and Channel 5 have announced additional cast and the start of production on the new murder mystery drama series, Murder Before Evensong. The six-episode series starring Matthew Lewis (Harry Potter franchise) is based on the first novel of the best-selling series by British author the Reverend Richard Coles. Lewis stars as Canon Daniel Clement.

The series is adapted by Nick Hicks-Beach (Lewis, Midsomer Murders) and directed by David Moore(Fool Me Once, Outlander).

Murder Before Evensong will air later this year on Acorn TV worldwide and Channel 5 in the UK.

Joining Lewis are Amanda Redman (New Tricks) as Audrey, Amit Shah (Happy Valley) as DS Neil Vanloo, Adam James (The Day of the Jackal) as Bernard De Floures, Meghan Treadway (One Day) as Honor De Floures, newcomer Alexander Delamain as Alex De Floures, Marion Bailey (The Crown) as Kath, Amanda Hadingue (Kaos) as Dora, Tamzin Outhwaite (The Wives) as Stella Harper, Francis Magee (Kin) as Edgy, and Nina Toussaint-White (Showtrial) as Jane Thwaite.

The series has begun filming in the West Midlands, UK with support from the West Midlands Production Fund. Acorn TV maintains worldwide rights to Murder Before Evensong outside of the UK with AMC Networks handling global content sales.

Executive Producers are the Reverend Richard Coles and Radford Neville for The Lighthouse, Catherine Mackin and Don Klees for Acorn TV/Acorn Media Enterprises, and Paul Testar, Commissioning Editor, Drama, Channel5.
