FX’s newest miniseries, Shōgun, is an adaptation of James Clavell’s bestselling novel set in 1600 Japan at the dawn of a century-defining civil war. The series premiered on February 27th, 2024 with the first 2 episodes and currently has a 100% Rotten Tomatoes score, with USA Today‘s Kelly Lawler describing it as “beautiful, rich and deeply compelling, it might just scratch that Game of Thrones itch you’ve had since the HBO fantasy folded in 2019.”
