8 New Series to Watch in December 2024

December for many usually brings about re-watching Christmas classics and getting into the holiday spirit. But for others, it’s also a time to relax and maybe get hooked on some new TV content. While December will see many new films making their way to both streaming platforms and theaters in time for awards season, it will also bring new TV series.

All month long, a variety of new shows will premiere from animated series, comedies, drama, and more. Here are 8 new series to watch in December 2024.

Star Wars: Skeleton Crew – December 3 (Disney+)

Cast: Jude Law, Ravi Cabot-Conyers,  Ryan Kiera Armstrong, Kyriana Kratter, Robert Timothy Smith, Tunde Adebimpe, Kerry Condon, Nick Frost

Synopsis: “The new series follows the journey of four kids who make a mysterious discovery on their seemingly safe home planet, then get lost in a strange and dangerous galaxy. Finding their way home—and meeting unlikely allies and enemies—will be a greater adventure than they ever imagined. “

Black Doves – December 5 (Netflix)

Cast: Keira Knightley, Ben Whishaw, Sarah Lancashire, Andrew Koji

Synopsis: “When a spy posing as a politician’s wife learns her lover has been murdered, an old assassin friend joins her on a quest for truth — and vengeance.”

Creature Commandos – December 5 (Max)

Voice cast: Steve Agee, Maria Bakalova, David Harbour, Anya Chalotra, Zoe Chao, Frank Grillo, Sean Gunn, Alan Tudyk, Indira Varma, Viola Davis

The Sticky – December 6 (Prime Video)

No Good Deed – December 12 (Netflix)

Dexter: Original Sin – December 13 (Paramount+ with Showtime, Showtime on December 15)

Cast: Patrick Gibson, Christian Slater, Molly Brown, James Martinez, Christina Milian, Alex Shimizu, Reno Wilson, Sarah Michelle Gellar

Synopsis: “Follows Dexter (Patrick Gibson) as he transitions from student to avenging serial killer. Laid – December 19 (Peacock)

Synopsis: “A woman finds out her former lovers are dying in unusual ways and must go back through her sex timeline to confront her past in order to move forward – “Laid” is a f*cked up rom-com where the answer to “why can’t I find love, is there something wrong with me?” is a resounding “Yes. There is. The problem is definitely you.””
