
7 Upcoming Movies Starring The Stranger Things Cast
While Stranger Things Season 5 is still in production, the cast have still been keeping busy as they take on other roles outside the hit Netflix series. There are several films we can expext to see in the year 2025 alone that will star Stranger Things cast. Here are 7 upcoming films you can expect to see hit the big screen in the new year.
Billy Knight – Charlie Heaton (Jonathan Byers)
Charlie will star opposite Al Pacino (The Irishman, The Godfather) and Diana Silvers (The Killer, Booksmart) in the upcoming drama Billy Knight, the feature film debut of Alec Griffen Roth. The film is in post-production and there is no date of release confirmed just yet.
The synopsis on IMDb reads: “Follow Alex and Emily as they go through their aspiring careers as filmmakers and an old time memory from Alex’s father, a box of unfinished scripts and a handkerchief with the name “Billy Knight”.”
Cold Storage – Joe Keery (Steve Harrington)
The upcoming sci-fi thriller, Cold Storage will star Keery alongside a star-studded cast including Liam Neeson (Taken, The Grey), Sosie Bason (Smile, Mare of Easttown), Lesley Manville (Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris, Phantom Thread), Georgina Campbell (The Watchers, Barbarian), and Vanessa Redgrave (Coriolanus, Atonement).
Directed by Jonny Campbell (Informer) and written by David Koepp (Kimi, Jurassic Park), the logline reads, “A fungus stored in a government facility gets out and wreaks havoc on the world.” The movie is set for theatrical release on September 18, 2025.
The Electric State – Millie Bobby Brown (Eleven)
Millie will star in the upcoming Netflic sci-fi adventure film The Electric State based on the 2018 graphic novel of the same name by Simon Stålenhag. It will be released on the platform March 14th, 2025. It also stars Chris Pratt (Guardians of the Galaxy), Ke Huy Quan (Everything Everywhere All at Once), Jason Alexander (Star Trek: Prodigy, Seinfeld), Woody Norman (Cobweb, C’mon C’mon), Giancarlo Esposito (MaXXXine, Breaking Bad), and Stanley Tucci (Conclave). Woody Harrelson (Fly Me to the Moon, Zombieland), Anthony Mackie (Twisted Metal, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier), Brian Cox (Succession, Adaptation.), Jenny Slate (Gifted, Marcel the Shell), Hank Azaria (Brockmire, The Birdcage), Colman Domingo (The Madness, Rustin), and Alan Tudyk (Harley Quinn, Resident Alien) join the cast in voice roles.
Synopsis: “Set in the aftermath of a robot uprising in an alternate version of the ’90s, The Electric State follows an orphaned teenager who ventures across the American West with a cartoon-inspired robot, a smuggler, and his sidekick in search of her younger brother.”

The Legend of Ochi – Finn Wolfhard (Mike Wheeler)
A24’s upcoming adventure fantasy film The Legend of Ochi will star Finn alongside Helena Zengel (System Crasher, News of the World), Emily Watson (Chernobyl, Dune: Prophecy), and Willem Dafoe (Nosferatu, Poor Things). While there is no official date yet, A24 released a trailer so we can probably expect it some time in 2025.
The synopsis reads, “In a remote northern village, a young girl, Yuri, is raised to never go outside after dark and to fear the reclusive forest creatures known as the Ochi.”

Levon’s Trade – David Harbour (Jim Hopper)
Originally titled Levon Cade, Levon’s Trade will star David Harbour alongisde Jason Statham (The Beekeper) and Michael Peña (A Million Miles Away). The action thriller is directed by David Ayer (The Beekeeper) and is co-written by Sylvester Stallone (The Expendables) and Chuck Dixon (Harley Quinn). It will premiere in theaters on January 17, 2025. The synopsis reads, “Levon Cade left his profession behind to work construction and be a good dad to his daughter. But when a local girl vanishes, he’s asked to return to the skills that made him a mythic figure in the shadowy world of counter-terrorism.”
O’Dessa – Sadie Sink (Max Mayfield)
Sadie will star in the upcoming post-apocalyptic musical drama O’Dessa set to release in 2025. It also stars Murray Bartlett (The White Lotus), Kelly Macdonald (Brave), Kelvin Harrison Jr. (Chevalier), and Regina Hall (Girls Trip). The synopsis on IMDb reads, “A farm girl in search to recover a cherished family heirloom. She travels to a strange and dangerous city where she meets her one true love. To save his soul, she must put the power of destiny to the ultimate test.”
Warfare – Joseph Quinn (Eddie Munson)
Joseph will star in Alex Garland’s (Civil War, Ex Machina) next movie, Warfare from A24. The huge cast also includes Kit Connor (Heartstopper, The Wild Robot), Will Poulter (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Midsommar), Noah Centineo (The Recruit, To All the Boys movies), Cosmo Jarvis (Shōgun, Persuasion), Finn Bennett (True Detective, A Banquet), D’Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai (Reservation Dogs), Charles Melton (May December, Riverdale), Henrique Zaga (The New Mutants, 13 Reasons Why), Taylor John Smith (Where the Crawdads Sing, Sharp Objects), Aidan Bradley (Tarot, Wrong Turn), Michael Gandolfini (The Many Saints of Newark), and Evan Holtzman (Hit Man).
According to Vogue, the film “will tell the story of a Navy Seal team in mid-’00s Iraq whose latest mission goes terribly wrong.” Warfare is now in post-production.
