After a five year wait, the HBO anthology crime series True Detective has returned with its fourth season, titled True Detective: Night Country. The six-episode season premiered on January 14th, 2024, and is set in the fictional town of Ennis, Alaska where eight men who operate a research station vanish without a trace. With a possible connection to a past case, detectives Liz Danvers (played by Jodie Foster) and Evangeline Navarro (played by Kali Reis) team up to solve the case(s) just as the 30 days of total darkness begins. With only 3 more episodes to go, there’s no guessing how things will turn out, as there are paranormal elements at play as well.
