Apple TV+‘s new sci-fi series, Murderbot, had its season one finale on July 11, and was quickly renewed for a second season. The series is based on the award-winning books by Martha Wells and is described as “a sci-fi thriller/comedy” that follows a self-hacking security construct who is horrified by human emotion yet drawn to its vulnerable clients. Played by Alexander Skarsgård (SuccessionBig Little Lies), Murderbot must hide its free will and complete a dangerous assignment when all it really wants is to be left alone to watch futuristic soap operas.
