The cast of Netflix’s hit series Outer Banks are certainly not having a hard time booking roles. The series provided each cast member with their own breakout roles, opening the doors for lead roles in films. Here are 5 upcoming movies starring Chase Stokes, Madelyn Cline, Madison Bailey, Rudy Pankow, and Drew Starkey that we can expect to drop sometime in 2022.
Uglies – Chase Stokes
Uglies is currently being filmed, but what we know so far is that this Netflix film stars Chase Stokes, Joey King (The Kissing Booth franchise), and Brianne Tju (I Know What You Did Last Summer TV series), and is based on the young adult science-fiction series by Scott Westerfeld. According to IMDb, the synopsis for Uglies is: A world in which a compulsory operation wipes out physical differences and makes everyone pretty.
Knives Out 2 – Madelyn Cline
It was announced in June that Madelyn joined the cast of Knives Out 2, making it her first major studio role since Outer Banks‘ debut. Daniel Craig will reprise his role from the original film as Benoit Blanc, and Netflix acquired the rights to the sequel. Dave Bautista, Janelle Monae, Kathryn Hahn, Leslie Odom Jr., Kate Hudson and Edward Norton were also added to the cast. The film is now in post-production, so we can expect it to be released on Netflix sometime in early to mid 2022.
Time Cut – Madison Bailey
Madison Bailey stars alongside Ginny & Georgia‘s Antonia Gentry in the upcoming horror flick, Time Cut. Not much is known about the plot, but it has been described as “Back To The Future meets Scream.” Filming took place this past summer in Winnipeg, Canada, and we can expect it to drop in mid 2022. There’s no word yet on whether it will be released in theatres and/or via a streaming service platform.
The Crusades – Rudy Pankow
Rudy Pankow landed the lead role of Leo Grecco in the dramatic comedy film The Crusades, alongisde Ashley Nicole Williams (Motherland: Fort Salem), and Nicholas Turturro (NYPD Blue). Official synopsis: Three friends at an all-boys high school try to survive one final weekend before merging with their rival school. Production took place in summer 2021, and we can expect it to be released sometime in 2022 – though nothing has been confirmed.
Hellraiser – Drew Starkey
The 1987 cult classic horror film about an evil creature summoned from another dimension is getting a reboot. Drew Starkey will star in the modern Hellraiser alongside Brandon Flynn (13 Reasons Why), Jamie Clayton (Sense8), Goran Visnjic (The Boys), Adam Faison (Everything’s Gonna Be Okay), and Odessa A’zion (Grand Army). The film is in post production and Hulu has the rights to it, meaning it will likely be released on the streaming platform sometime in 2022.
