One of the best aspects of Netflix’s romance drama series Virgin River is the cozy feel of the small Northern California town mixed with the beautiful scenery. Based on the Virgin River novels by Robyn Carr, the series premiered in 2019 and follows nurse practitioner and midwife Melinda “Mel” Monroe (played by Alexandra Breckenridge) who makes the move from L.A. to Virgin River looking for a new start. Season 5 will be making its premiere on September 7th with the first 10 episodes followed by 2 holiday episodes on November 30th. If you’re looking for other shows like Virgin River which have that small town feel, here are 14 suggestions you can start streaming right now before the new season kicks off.
