
12 New Series to Watch in May 2025
As we approach another new month this spring, there is so much new content coming our way. From new comedies, dramas, to thrillers and more, there is something for everyone to put on their to-watch list.
Here are 12 new series to watch that will premiere throughout May 2025.
The Four Seasons – May 1 (Netflix)
Cast: Tina Fey, Will Forte, Kerri Kenney-Silver, Marco Calvani, Erika Henningsen, Colman Domingo, Steve Carrell
Synopsis: “The decades-long friendship between three married couples is tested when one divorces, complicating their tradition of quarterly weekend getaways.”
Miss Austen – May 4 (PBS Masterpiece)
Cast: Keeley Hawes, Rose Leslie, Synnøve Karlsen, Patsy Ferran, Max Irons, Alfred Enoch, Calam Lynch Phyllis Logan
Synopsis: “In Miss Austen, the drama begins in 1830, many years after Jane has died. Cassandra rushes to visit Isabella, the niece of her long-dead fiancé, who is about to lose her home following her father’s death. Cassandra is ostensibly there to help Isabella, but her real motive is to find a hidden bundle of private letters which, in the wrong hands, she fears could destroy Jane’s reputation.”
Bet – May 15 (Netflix)

Duster – May 15 (Max)
Cast: Josh Holloway, Rachel Hilson, Keith David
Synopsis: “Set in the 1970s Southwest, Duster explores the life of a gutsy getaway driver for a growing crime syndicate that goes from dangerous to wildly, stupidly dangerous when a tenacious young agent comes into town hellbent on taking his crime family down.”
Overcompensating – May 15 (Prime Video)

With guidance from Benny’s older sister (Mary Beth Barone) and her campus-legend boyfriend (Adam DiMarco), Benny and Carmen juggle horrible hookups, flavored vodka, and fake IDs.”
Secrets We Keep – May 15 (Netflix, Danish Limited Series)

Synopsis: “Cecilie grows suspicious when her neighbor’s young Filipino au pair, Ruby, disappears from an affluent Copenhagen neighborhood. Driven to uncover the truth, Cecilie launches her own investigation, only to find more than she bargained for.”
Murderbot – May 16 (Apple TV+)
Cast: Alexander Skarsgård, Noma Dumezweni, David Dastmalchian, Sabrina Wu, Akshay Khanna, Tattiawna Jones, Tamara Podemski
Synopsis: “Based on Martha Wells’ best-selling, Hugo and Nebula Award winning book series, “Murderbot” is sci-fi thriller/comedy about a self-hacking security construct who is horrified by human emotion yet drawn to its vulnerable clients. Murderbot must hide its free will and complete a dangerous assignment when all it really wants is to be left alone to watch futuristic soap operas and figure out its place in the universe.”
Motorheads – May 20 (Prime Video)

Synopsis: “Motorheads is about first love, first heartbreak, and turning the key in your first car. Set in a once-thriving rust-belt town that’s now searching for a glimmer of hope, the series is an adrenaline-filled story of a group of outsiders who form an unlikely friendship over a mutual love of street racing, while navigating the hierarchy and rules of high school.”

Tyler Perry’s She the People Part 1- May 22 (Netflix, Part 2 releases on August 14)

Sirens – May 22 (Netflix, Limited Series)
