As we are nearing a new year and many people are rating their top films and series of the year, we are looking forward to highly anticipated new series making their way to our screens in 2025. While there are many returning seasons slated, thre are tons of new series ranging in genres to look out for. Here are 10 new series premiering in January 2025 to put on your to-watch list.
The Breakthrough – January 7 (Netflix)

Synopsis: “When a shocking double homicide goes unsolved for 16 years, a detective teams up with a genealogist to catch the killer before it becomes a cold case.”

Doc – January 7 (Fox)
Cast: Molly Parker, Omar Metwally, Scott Wolf, Jon-Michael Ecker, Anya Banerjee, Amirah Vann, Daniel Jun, Conni Miu
Synopsis: “Doc is a new medical drama starring Molly Parker as the hard-charging, brilliant Dr. Amy Larsen, Chief of Internal and Family Medicine at Westside Hospital in Minneapolis. Shifting Gears – January 8 (ABC)

Synopsis: “Shifting Gears stars Tim Allen as Matt, the stubborn, widowed owner of a classic car restoration shop. When Matt’s estranged daughter (Kat Dennings) and her kids move into his house, the real restoration begins.”
American Primeval – January 9 (Netflix)

On Call – January 9 (Prime Video)
Cast: Troian Bellisario, Brandon Larracuente, Eriq La Salle, Lori Loughlin, Rich Ting
Synospis: “On Call is an adrenalized and visceral police drama that follows a rookie and veteran officer duo as they go on patrol in Long Beach, California. Incorporating a mixture of bodycam, dash-camera, and cellphone footage to create a cinema verité effect, the innovative series explores the morality of protecting and serving a community.”
The Pitt – January 9 (Max)

Sakamoto Days – January 11 (Netflix)

Prime Target – January 22 (Apple TV+)
