When it was announced that a sequel to the cult classic Karate Kid was in the works, many were skeptical about it. On May 2, YouTube Red released the 10-episode series, and it’s getting incredibly positive reactions.

The series, which stars Karate Kid original cast members Ralph Macchio and William Zabka, takes place 30 years after the infamous 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament. Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) seeks redemption by re-opening the Cobra Kai karate dojo, and finds himself once again at odds with Daniel LaRusso who is now a successful car dealership owner (Ralph Macchio).

It currently has a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, a 9.2/10 on IMDB and a 72% on Metacritic.
On May 5, the series hit 15 millions views.

The final episode leaves the door open for a potential second season, which definitely seems likely considering reactions seen online.
